But there are people who are very, very conservative that believe it should be between a man and a woman. He never quite fit in at school and got bullied relentlessly for his style and taste in music.

Inspired by Duran Duran, he wore eyeliner and baggy clothes—something that made him an easy target. Everybody gets offended.

People get so crazy, and that’s the problem – these preconceived notions in people’s heads that they should have the right to judge people on what they do.

The kids would beat him up for being different and make fun of him for being "gay," and Davis is very adamant that he wasn't. People have been freaking out about it. I’m just having a blast writing electronic music that’s really different. They have been playing their entire self-titled debut from front to back at recent shows, including playing the song "Daddy" for the first time in almost two decades.

The band just released a new clip where they discuss the writing of their song "Faget." It got me thinking what would the response be if they released the song today?

Let Jonathan Davis explain to you why he wrote the song:

Want More Metal? But it’s just a touchy-ass subject. Kids threw homophobic slurs at him and even nicknamed him ‘HIV’ because they assumed he was gay.

Attila's song "Proving Ground" was labelled by their frontman as an anti-bullying song, even though the main lyric is "who's the faggot now," implying that the bully calling the victim a faggot is actually the faggot… proving that Fronz doesn't exactly understand empowerment.

Everyone else did their thing and we did our thing, but in the dance scene they’re looping everybody in with everybody. (So don't.)

KORN Discuss Their Controversial Song "Faget"

Korn are currently in the midst of a 20th anniversary tour. I got some different styles I’m mashing together and I want it to be really, really right.

Will you go to any of the upcoming dance festivals?
I got three boys now – they’re young and they need their dad and I’m gone months at a time, so if one of the festivals is close by, I’ll grab my two little ones that are with me and check it out.

All he does is walk around singing their songs, and when I’m producing J Devil stuff he’ll come in and say, “That’s so awesome, Daddy!” He’ll get so excited. Besides the ‘HIV’ ink, he has a striking image of a bishop tearing off his skin to reveal Christ underneath—a symbol of his views on religious corruption, especially in televangelism.

I think it’s cool. “Oh, that’s horrible, those two men are together.” “What the fuck does that have to do with you?” I never get that.  To me love is love, and if two people love each other they should have the right to be wed or union-ed, or whatever the hell you want to call it.

If you feel inside you are a woman, be a woman – no one can take that away from you, man. What’s it like for you to play with acts like Chukie, Kill The Noize and Puddle of Mudd at the same festival?
I love those guys. It’s just a mixture of both scenes.

At first, his dad discouraged him from pursuing music, telling him to have a backup plan. It’s a dance-rock hybrid show.
