That's why all the women in my family have back trouble, you know? No, Schmidt, you cannot see my boobs.
Schmidt: I need to look them in the eyes. In the meantime, Winston lays some groundwork with the girls across the way from the loft and Coach grows jealous. Hunks. Um... Rinse and repeat.”

A lot of the negativity was also directed at the scene in “The Bridge” in which Will (Noah Schnapp) comes out as gay to the group as they prepare for the final battle with Vecna.

“the worst part of the coming out scene was that no one even properly addressed it after??

Hard to say who was the worst.
Schmidt: Comedy magician.
Coach: No, it's the guy with the little ding-ding.
Winston: The lion tamer.
Jess: Never went out with a lion tamer.
Winston: Then I am having some vivid dreams.

New Girl - Episode 4.07 - Review: "Goldmine"

This week on New Girl, Nick pretends to be gay so that Jess has an easier transition with Ian (guest star Michael Stahl-David). but I understand. Who's shy, but yet surprisingly so brave. I mean, he went so far as to hire an actual gay man to play his cheating lover.
Jess: What?

Throw in a little, uh, hint of German in there, there's a perfect combo.
Ian: Okay.
Nick: Certain ice cream men, I guess. And how has this city rewarded me? Nick basically found himself living in an episode of Three’s Company, as the core six were broken off into two-person pairs to deal with romance in a variety of fashions.
Jess is dating some guy—his existence beyond that is irrelevant, as New Girl has been taking more of a Seinfeld approach to relationships recently.

There, there.
Schmidt: Thanks.
Nick: Yeah.
Schmidt: Acceptance. Was it emotional? I'm so out of the game-- I'm in a relationship. Then the next episode starts and it’s dead again.
