In a population, these harmful mutations can accumulate over time, and this accumulation is referred to as the "mutational load."

Mutational load can be influenced by several factors, including the mutation rate (how often new mutations occur), the effect of the mutations (whether they are mildly or strongly deleterious), and the population's size and structure.

Another study from 1995 focusing on the relationship between height, weight, and sexual orientation in gender-dysphoric males has revealed interestingly similar findings.

I’ve been thinking about my tallness more so than ever, after being added to one of the UK’s most culturally impactful WhatsApp groups and safe spaces, Super Tall Good Lads (STGL).

I usually sit on the sidelines of STGL, watching countless meet-cutes being documented after another lad has been scouted, usually on a Friday or Saturday night.

There was also a graph shared on Twitter called "How Height & Queerness Compare." It's clear that many more men on the very short side, as well as the very tall side, are gay compared to the men who are a more average height.

The London-based WhatsApp group currently has 421 members, who all bond over the tribulations relating to their size.

In it, they share the best places to buy shirts, pants and suits (Marks and Spencers, allegedly), post photos of their tall-specific personal projects (kayaks, bed frames), and sad images of their legs trapped in Ryanair plane seats.The group is active almost every day and isn’t exclusive to purely tall-chat, with the men sharing links for five-minute mobility routines for bad hips, or helping fellow talls out with disputing a parking fine.

But it’s not all plain sailing.

So what do the other users get from the group? Upon analysis, the study confirmed this observation, finding that homosexual gender-dysphoric males were, on average, shorter, lighter, and lighter in proportion to their height compared to their nonhomosexual counterparts.

Additionally, the study discovered that homosexual gender-dysphoric men were shorter than men in the general population, while nonhomosexual gender-dysphoric men were not.

This line of existential questioning is no coincidence. Regionally, the numbers vary, with higher percentages in urban areas and states known for their progressive stances. Could I be trusted in shining a light on our community? Most recently, someone managed to get former English Footballer Peter Crouch (6ft7) to pose for a photo for the group. The man approached him and whipped out his phone, inviting him into the Super Tall Good Lads chat.
